This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Masaomi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[There's no way that's possible. She smiles though, and nods. ...And then thinks of something else] I heard that you recently went to the moon. Do you think you could tell me what outer space was like while we're at it?

Uh - yeah. [A bit unexpected - and recalling those few days dampens his mood.] It was... really weird. It's very dark and cold, and on the moon there's... the gravity's so loose that anyone can bounce around like an airbender. [If they had gone their under different circumstances... he might have loved it.] There's no air so you always have to wear a tight spacesuit. Except they also made little cities that are inside domes which have fake air so it's almost like normal there, but not really.

How can you make fake air? [She's following, hoping he's leading to ice cream to go with it. But she's curious now. She knows it was a draft but...]

[Have faith, Asami. Aang is surely steering her towards... whichever local venue supplies ice cream.]

That's science, you should ask Sokka that. Not even an Airbender can just make air. At least I think it was fake, but when I think about it they could have just brought air up from the planet. I was just too relieved to have some kind of air again to wonder how it got up there.

Taking it from the planet makes more sense to me than fake air but... I'm not that versed in "Shifting." Was it neat to be on the moon though? See the stars?

It... it was neat, aside from the reason we had to be there. Being out there, in space, on the moon I never could imagined it... it was so unreal and weird and cool, but... there's something you gotta know. Even if that air wasn't fake... the stars you see up there in the sky at night? They're... they're fake. Illusions made by Malnosso. Only the sun's real.

They... huh. [Head hang as she considers that, tutting] ...That's really strange.

It... it is. [It made him feel so small and alone. That and the lack of the Spirit World... there were things about this world he didn't want to think about. He frowns and glanced towards Asami as they proceed into the village.] This whole place is... it's really, really strange and I- I admit it's scary. I'm sorry we had to meet in a place like this, Asami.

[There's a pause here because she agrees, however... she probably should be in good humor. She pushes back a stray little thing of hair and-] The only other way we'd meet is if you were using Korra's body, Avatar Aang. I think this is actually a little less odd.

[Okay so it's not. But it's a joke]

That would be pretty weird. [A joke. He gives a light chuckle. Even if he instead feels a slight hope inside. He'd take that oddness if it meant he could see his grandchildren in person and to see Katara again - but it's way too early to think of stuff like that. And he does not know if that will ever happen.] But it might not be too weird. When Roku and Kyoshi possessed me in the past, I think they were able to look like themselves instead of me.

Maybe it's being raised in Republic City talking, but that's hardly any more comforting. Too Spiritual for my blood.

[Also a joke]

I guess they keep all the spiritualness on Air Temple Island. But maybe you won't have to see anything weird like that. [Still he sees a chance to not dwell on his afterlife.] So what is it like living in Republic City?

Amazing. It's the cutting edge of technological and cultural progress. Sure, it takes bits from other major cities like the Northern Water Tribe's capitol or Ba Sing Se, but for the most part, things pour out of Republic City to them.

Really? Wow. It does sound like a really great place. But for me it is kind of weird to imagine our world will one day be that... technological. Most of the new stuff I've been hearing about I found out about here in Luceti first.

But our world was technological even back during the war? The first steam powered automobiles predate Ozai's downfall by several years, and the first steam-powered train is even older than that, stretching across the main island in the Fire Nation's chain.

Yeah, there was some technology and I think I did ride that train once, but a lot of it wasn't a part of everyday life. You guys even have those radio things.

[He looks over towards the grocery store as they approach it, which presumably is the place with ice cream?]

I'm just urging you not to discount what was accomplished in your... or well, I suppose the time you woke up in. The basis of most of what's a part of everyday life in Republic City's from that time period.

[Still, she smiles. Ice cream is good and it seems like they're nearing a place for it if he's pointedly looking around]

Okay, I won't, then. Sokka and the Mechanist did invent a bunch of other neat things too! Like a submarine. [He points forward.] That place should have some ice cream, good in every time period.

Well that's true. [Okay, lead on Avatar Aang. She doesn't really want to take the lead for someone legendary like this]

[And Aang does lead her into the grocery store and to an ice cream machine. He grabs a pair of cones.]

What kind of flavor do you want, Asami?

Do they have melon. [Taller than Aang and all, she's better able to glance over it. And... doesn't seem like it. Bah]

[He takes a bit longer to look over the flavors before he looks back with a frown.]

Sorry, doesn't look like it.
