[She's sure the people in the Avatar cast could help her with most of these too, but she's imposing enough by having slept in Sokka's room last night (reducing him to the couch) and she needs to figure out a few things here like somewhere else to stay, new wardrobe, her gauntlet, all that stuff.]

Other than that, does anyone like sports? I'm fond of racing and probending, myself.

[By this point, Amelia's trips to the item shop are less likely to reveal anything of her own--she's been in Luceti far too long to still have many possessions left in her world. But there's still interesting finds sometimes, and it's worth looking some days.

Especially today.

Amelia's standing in the middle of an aisle, holding a glove she's never seen before. Oh, but she's seen something like it, and the two are similar enough to have her examining the glove intently, even if she doesn't really understand what she sees.]

[Asami's in here for... well, honestly, she's mostly here for make up and accessories. Someone (probably the man himself) told her Sokka would look out for the glove in the weapon shop, so she's not... really expecting it to be here.

So. Lala, looking through the isles. with a basket- she hasn't noticed Amelia as of yet]

[Amelia considers the glove a moment longer, then decides she won't accomplish much just standing there, staring at it. There's been more than one person talking about technology over the journals lately; maybe one of them could tell her more about it.

So glove in hand, she starts to head for the door.]

[Aaaand, of course, Asami sees that. Belatedly, really, as Amelia's about at the door with it, but that's- it's hard to call it hers when there are tons of ones just like it in the hands of Equalists but-]

[Amelia stops at the yell, one hand on the door. She turns to face the person, a girl she doesn't recognize, probably only a couple years younger than her.]

Yeah? Something you need?

No. I found it here, a few minutes ago.

[Amelia has been thinking she might have to ask someone more familiar with technology about it. But finding the owner is even better.]

Here. [She hands it over.] What does it do?

[Sweet. She takes it, examines the safeties - good. And then slips it right on. She flexes the fingers, and then activates a little charge on the air.]

It generates electricity to shock people.

[The sparks definitely get Amelia's attention, and then the other girl confirms what she's thought.]

Where did you get it? [A glove that's so much like Gasback's weapon...]

I took it off an Equalist back home. [...She won't know what those are. Okay, finger flex] They're a terrorist group, basically... or well under the leadership of a man named Amon, they were. [Because. At heart it was a social justice movement. Probably. She has to hope there was some point when her father wasn't totally mad]

[Yeah, Amelia frowns at the mention of terrorists.]

Do they all have gloves like these? How strong are they?

Not all of them, but plenty of them... and they've been strong enough to give Republic City a hard time for months now. [Assuming Amelia means Equalists]

...Oh. [She doesn't, but Amelia realizes that's her own fault.]

I meant the gloves. I'm not from your world. [Considering Gunsmoke lacks a "Republic City."] But that technology looks a lot like something I've seen in mine. That's what caught my interest.

Oh... Oh gosh, I'm sorry, that was stupid of me. [She even blushes and puts a hand on her face and shakes her head, thus giving the entire world a boner.

Okay no. But now she takes off the glove and shows Amelia the front and back of it, as here] This here on the back is the power source, it's a high powered battery, and then the electrical current comes out here on the palm. You can see it's heavily insulated to make sure the person using the glove isn't shocked themselves too.

[Amelia listens to the explanation, nods at certain points.] How strong is the output? Can it kill?

It's... not designed to kill people, but it's electricity. If you're not careful or you're malicious with it, you might be able to. [But the thought is a little uncomfortable]

Right. [So in that, it's very different from what Gasback made.]

You know a lot about these things. Do you work with technology in your world?

My... father did. [...That is so much harder to say what with the whole Dad Is Evil thing] I picked up a lot because of the company he owns. [Owned? whatever]

[Amelia goes silent at that, because it strikes too close to home. A father making people suffer, designing weapons for the wrong reasons?

And a weapon that uses electricity, no less.]

My father made something like that, in my world. He also made this. [Amelia lifts up her left hand, pulls off the glove to reveal a second one underneath.]

It neutralizes electricity somehow. I never really understood how it worked.

Neutralizes? [In spite of herself, Asami goes to take Amelia's hand, feeling around the glove thing, but also tilting it to get a better look] I wonder if it stores it somewhere or grounds it, or...

[Amelia cringes when Asami reaches for her, but so long as the other girl doesn't touch skin, she'll try not to pull away.

And if Asami does make skin-contact? Amelia will pull away with a whine, and start scratching the spot.]

I don't know. It just absorbs the electricity so it can't harm anyone.

[She, unfortunately, does. It's mostly to try to feel the glove thing and get a feel for it, but given its design touching her skin would be inevitable. When Amelia recoils, she blinks, a bit alarmed-] I'm sorry! That was very invasive of me. I didn't mean to startle you- [though the scratching makes her think it might be more- not her place] it's just a fascinating design.

[Amelia shakes her head, but there's a whine in her voice.] I've got an allergy. [On the plus side, Asami's going to get the chance to look at Amelia's glove, because Amelia pulls it off and holds it out to the other girl.

Just give her a second. Once Asami's got the glove, Amelia pulls a can of disinfectant from her coat. Honestly, it's not that bad of a reaction, but it still itches. At least she'll calm down once she's sprayed it.]
